Peter Vinden has been working as a commercial, work place and employment mediator for the last 15 years. Peter Vinden’s primary profession is as a Chartered Quantity Surveyors but for the last ten years has worked exclusively as an Arbitrator, Adjudicator and Mediator.

He completed his training with CEDR in 1999 and studied in Rome and at Harvard Law School. He is certified by The International Mediation Institute and sits on various mediation panels including CEDR Solve, ADR Group, Consenus, RICS and TecSA. He is rated by Clerkrooms as an “Elite Mediator” and as mediated in excess of 100 cases in the last 10 years. Peter is particularly skilled in using mediation with other means of dispute resolution including litigation, adjudication and arbitration.

Peter’s mediation style is often described as being committed, robust, sensitive but realistic. He will adopt an evaluative approach (if possible) where a facilitative approach to the mediation is likely to result in a failure to settle. Peter has some training in hostage negotiation and is comfortable in high pressure disputes where extreme conversations and negotiations are the norm. Although Peter was brought up in the Church of England he converted to Catholicism in 1995. He believes that there is a place in the world for all people regardless of colour, beliefs or religion. More jaw less war, is his guiding principle.
